Emma in Buttonland
Jacoby & Stuart| 2011
Emma has to spend her vacation with her quirky relatives, Uncle Hubert and Aunt Mechthild, who hoard everything they can get for free in their enormous house: used bus tickets, snail shells, ballpoint pens… you name it.
One evening, when Emma steps into the button room, a large gold button suddenly starts talking to her. Emma touches it — and whoosh! — she finds herself shrunk down to button size and transported to Buttonland.
No sooner has she arrived than she has to flee from the Button Police, who hunt down all non-buttons. The smug, self-important Isolde — the gold button — has sicced them on her. Luckily, Emma meets Luise the silver button and Gustav the traditional costume button, who want to help their new friend find her way back to the human world.
